PACIFIC
NORTHWEST DRILL TEAM ASSOCIATION
Meeting Minutes - January 15, 2000
An organizational
meeting was held on Saturday, January 15, 2000, at the
Clark County Saddle Club, Vancouver, Washington. In attendance
were
representatives from about 14 groups from Washington and Oregon.
Contact people were
asked to sign in with their telephone numbers and
email addresses.
Gail Williams thanked
Susan Willis and Verna Dunar for their assistance
with the proposed bylaws and setting up the web site. Web site address:

Gail stated that the
reason for setting up this organization had come
about following the last Oregon Women's Drill Team Association (OWDTA)
meeting where the Desperados had asked about membership. Because
this
team is co-ed this had not been allowed. Currently co-ed and youth
teams
have no organization in this area to which they can belong and compete
in
all the drill team events that are offered by the areas various state
competitions offered by both the Washington Ladies Riding Club Association
(WLRCA) or the OWDTA for women's teams. The Montana association
allows
teams other than women's, however there are none in membership at this
time.
Gail is willing to
continue to work on this project, however would like
someone else to lead the organization and assist in its growth.
There has
been interest expressed from one Montana team and the Sacramento California
co-ed team. We do not know of any teams in British Columbia at this
time.
This group would not be closed to other regions. The proposed bylaws
were drawn from WLRCA, OWDTA and PNER bylaws.
The group then proceeded
to read through the proposed bylaws and make
suggestions on changes or improvements.
