The Sundancers Drill Team of Eugene had been asked about serving as host

the discussion, the representatives indicated they would take the information
back to the team and they would probably be willing to serve as host team.
Latigo 'n Lace agreed to assist, and will host a "brunch" on Saturday or
Sunday.
We will send an application to the Appleatchee Riders Association in Wenatchee,
Washington requesting the 4th weekend of June in 2004.
Andy Jacobson & Troy consulted earlier and made the following recommendation:
DIVISION PLACEMENT METHOD
Placement of all teams will be determined by a point system that is based
on each team’s placing in five (5) competitions held during the previous
drill season.
The number of points earned at any competition is determined by subtracting
the team’s order of finish from the number of teams at that competition.
Typically, the team’s order of finish in the overall high point would be
used, assuming the competition had more than one drill category (freestyle,
short program, quad, impromptu, etc.) and that the team competed in all categories
making up the overall points for that competition.
Example:
If a team finished 2nd overall and there were 11 teams competing for the
overall high point in that competition, the team would get 9 points (11
- 2 = 9).
If a team competed in only one drill category, its points would be determined
by how the team placed against the other teams competing in that category.
Obviously, the same is true if a team competed in an event in which only
one drill category was used.
Example:
If a team competed and finished 5th in only freestyle and there were 12
teams competing in freestyle, the team would get 7 points (12 - 5 = 7).
If a team competes in more than 5 events, only the points earned for the
team’s top 5 placings would be used.
If a team competes in 4 events, it’s points for the 5th event will be the
average of the points earned in the other 4 events.
If a team competes in fewer than 4 events, it would automatically be entered
in Division B with the right to petition the Board for permission to compete
in Division A.
Fifty percent (50%) of the teams will be placed in the each division.
Representatives are to take this information back to their teams for review
and discussion. We will re-visit at our next meeting.
